Virtual Tourism: Speculation Concept or Future of Tourism

Since the age of 25, Li Bai has been traveling throughout his life. Although we are unlikely to see the scenery in Li Bai's eyes again in contemporary times, the landscapes we see can always be imbued with the color of his poetry, because he has created a spiritual landscape map for us. We will follow the several "check-in points" mentioned in this article to embark on a special journey and meet Li Bai from another time and space.

The "Shu Road" is known as the most difficult road to take, and "the Shu Road is more difficult than reaching the blue sky". However, Li Bai's portrayal of the Shu Road breaks free from the constraints of describing the difficult and dangerous natural environment, and portrays the majestic and exaggerated nature of the mountains and rivers, which makes people cannot help but marvel at his courage to challenge. "Phoenix Terrace" is a landmark that exists in poetry. Phoenix Tour on the Phoenix Platform, Phoenix Flows on the Taikong River. Perhaps the Phoenix Tower in Li Bai's poetry can no longer be found on modern maps, but it does not affect our repeated recitation of this long gone tower. "Chu Di" is a representative of a cultural region. Li Bai described the poetry of Chu as "the mountains end with the plains, the rivers flow into the wilderness", with a magnificent atmosphere that makes people suddenly clear. Professor Zhang Weiran from the Historical Geography Research Center of Fudan University used the term "sensory cultural zone" to explain this phenomenon. After several historical dynasties, the "Chu culture" has regained its rightful social respect. In addition to the Chu region, we actually have some cultural and geographical concepts that are still being used, such as Bashu, Lingnan, Xiaoxiang, and so on.

"The pursuit of immortals in the Five Mountains is never far away, and it is a lifelong pleasure to visit famous mountains." This is Li Bai's refined summary of his life, and he has also taken us on the journey of "Tang poetry". As we explore Li Bai's poetic journey and immerse ourselves in the natural and cultural landscapes he depicts, these geographical terms also transform into dual coordinates of culture and spirit.

Agnes Martin: Artist of the Week 每周艺术家

Agnes Martin was an American abstract painter. Her matured works are uniquely minimalistic: huge canvases with meticulously penciled grids and lines with soft, uniform pastel colors.

Though Martin's career coincided with the ostentatious splashes of Abstract Expressionism and rational repetitions of Minimalism, her work emerged distinct from both. Rather than proclaiming individuality or larger ideals, Martin's work is bottled up. With the simplest, yet most debilitating routines of grids and dots, paintings seem to tuck themselves away with a sense of impressive neutrality. For Martin, painting was "a world without objects, without interruption.. or obstacle. It is to accept the necessity of ... going into a field of vision as you would cross an empty beach to look at the ocean.

Arata Isozaki – In Formation: Exhibition of the Week 每周展览

Arata Isozaki deconstructs the modern city and its ideologies through the creation of physical spaces. From the constantly-developing and expanding buildings that he analogizes to a board of pegs and string, to the decentralized living-spaces and performance-spaces that turns Foucault's panopticon on its head, from the atypical computer-generated structures of his New Florence Station, to the flexibility of the Ark Nova theater, these structures materializes concepts in a physical reality. Closer to home, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra building's curved roof and internal acoustics also bear his signature, a clever game of decorative form and functionality.
